Terming the twin blasts that took place in a train at Chennai Central Railway Station as a “senseless act of violence”, President Pranab Mukherjee has said no efforts should be spared to bring perpetrators of the attack to justice.
In a message to Dr. K. Rosaiah, Governor of Tamil Nadu, the President has said “I am saddened to learn about the tragic loss of life and injuries caused to innocent travellers in the explosions that occurred in Chennai today.
“Such senseless acts of violence deserve the strongest condemnation. No efforts should be spared in bringing the perpetrators of this heinous attack to justice. I am confident that the State Government and other agencies will do the needful to provide all possible aid to the affected families,” he added.
Two blasts took place on Thursday morning onboard the Bangalore-Guwahati Express shortly it had arrived at Platform No. 9 of the Chennai Central Railway Station. The bombs were planted under the seats of the two coaches. (ANI)
