Obtaining permission from Fire Services department was made easy and hassle-free now as the State government launched an online facility across the State. Owners of buildings, villas, multiplexes, multistoried buildings, cinema halls, function halls and such type of vicarages can now get online permissions within 14 days. As part of Fire Services Week being celebrated from April 14 to 20 in the State, the government has come up with this facility which will be of much use to owners of buildings, , Home Minister Nayani Narasimha Reddy said here on Tuesday.
Speaking to mediapersons after launching the online Fire Services facility at Secretariat and released some brochures and publicity material, the Home Minister said they would create awareness among the people to keep away from fire incidents. The Home Minister, who also holds portfolio of Fire Services, stated Rs 112 crore has been sanctioned for providing fire stations facility in 18 Assembly segments in the State. Fire drills and demonstrations will be conducted at public places, hospitals, railway stations, bus stations, hospitals and others.
The Home Minister said the State government geared up to meet any fire accident and officials concerned are ready to plunge into action to avert Kerala type of temple infernos that claimed more than 100 lives. He also said the officials are looking into 86 fire accident cases registered. (NSS)
