Stating that the Telangana State stood at No 1 in debts, farmers’ suicides and family rule in the last four years, PCC former president Ponnala Laxmaiah today alleged that the people were facing severe troubles after the TRS came to power.
Speaking to the media at Gandhi Bhavan here on Monday, Ponnala questioned TRS leaders how they would win 100 seats in 2019 elections when the State government failed to fulfill its election-eve assurances. He also observed that Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao has constructed a palace-like building for his Camp Office forgetting building double bed room houses to the poor. Dubbing Mission Bhagiratha as Mission Kalvakuntla, Ponnala said the people would teach a fitting lesson to the TRS, which mortgaged the self-respect of the Telangana people to the BJP.
Claiming that hundreds of TRS activists were coming forward to join the Congress, Ponnala said the TRS government was harassing tribals and Dalits. He said the TRS government did not lift cases against Telangana activists yet and virtually imposed dictatorial rule. He said the Congress will strive to solve the problems of the people.
Ponnala demanded that the State government explain whether there was increase in production of food grains and cultivation after Mission Kakathiya scheme was introduced. He also alleged corrupt practices in the Mission Bhagiratha scheme and the TRS government failed to respond when Congress demanded a discussion on it. (NSS)
