Hyderabad: Irrigation Minister T Harish Rao today said more number of people are getting confidence on government hospitals offering the best health services with modern equipment and latest machinery.
Along with Health Minister Dr C Lakshma Reddy, MP K Prabhakar Reddy, MLA Ramalinga Reddy, MLC Farukh Hussain, Harish Rao launched a Dialysis Center at Siddipet district hospital, set up at a cost of Rs 90 lakh. Speaking on the occasion, Harish Rao said the efforts of the government to strengthen all sectors in general and the hospitals in particular were giving positive results. He also said more number of women were shifting to the government hospitals from private and corporate hospitals for institutional deliveries, whose number has increased manifold. Harish said Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao was offering Rs 12,000 per woman on delivery at government hospitals and institutions. The women should avoid wasting money by going to private hospitals, which used to make needless surgical operations.
The minister asked the government hospitals, private ones and Anganwadi centers to encourage normal deliveries which are common in about 80 per cent in foreign countries. Lakshma Reddy said they could succeed in increasing confidence among the people on the government hospitals. “We are providing corporate level health services in the government hospitals and set up 40 dialysis centers and ventilators and ICUs in districts”, he added.
