Some people want to earn easy money instead of working hard for that. Such people easily become victim of fraudsters. They lose thousands of rupees in thirst for wealth.
In the city the hi-tech frauds have become order of the day. Some rob people’s money through ATM card, some swindle innocent people through baits of prize money. One such incident occurred in the last week of December 2013 at Kalapathar area. A woman who wishes to remain anonymous was swindled of Rs. 15000 by promising a prize money of Rs. 25 lakh. A person Suresh Pande calls the poor housewife on December 30 telling that she has won a lottery of Rs. 25 lakh. She was asked to deposit Rs. 15000 in a bank account to get prize money of Rs. 25 lakh. Believing the trickster the woman deposited the said amount by pledging her ornaments. Later that turned out to be phony.
According to sources many gullible people are taken for a ride by these fraudsters. Somebody sold off his auto another put his house on lease in greed of easy money but in return they gained nothing except loss and disappointment.
Police department’s behaviour is also uncooperative towards this issue. FIR is not being registered on such complaints.
