People giving consistent support, we will do best: KCR

Buoyed with his party’s handsome victory in Palair bye-poll,  TRS supremo and Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao today asserted that the people were offering consistent support to the TRS government.

Addressing the media on byepoll results, KCR said Palair people gave the TRS a landslide to TRS candidate and Minister Tummala Nageshwar Rao, who got 45,650-vote margin over Congress candidate Sucharitha Reddy. Extending thanks to people on the victory, KCR said Tummala broke record by getting a margin of 45,000 votes in Palair this time which never seen a majority of 25,000 votes previously. In 2014 elections, the TRS had got only 4,100 votes and this time it got more than 96,000 votes, which increased the responsibility on the government and the party, he said.

“The mandate is indeed a staunch people’s persistent support to our schemes and developmental programs”, the Chief Minister claimed. He also exhorted the leaders of the party not to get carried with headstrong and instead have humility towards people’s issues. “Let us not be proud which is not good and instead serve them best”, the Chief Minister noted and added that the people are supporting the TRS in each and every election from 2014.

The Chief Minister took a dig at the Congress for launching a tirade against the TRS rule from fifth day of his taking over as Chief Minister. “The TRS will not hesitate to file defamation cases against the Congress if it failed to stop making false allegations”, he warned. KCR also took exception to the Congress for shifting of Khammam Collector, SP and other officials before the election, he said. Earlier, the Centre gave a pat to Khammam’s Lokesh Kumar for better conduct of 2014 general elections, he said. “Prime Minister Narendra Modi and many noted organizations greeted our government for its welfare schemes and also many States appreciated them. Nonetheless, the Congress was vying for adopting outdated politics of 1947 and resorting to mud-slinging. The Congress should play a constructive role and make constructive criticism and help develop the State”, he added. (NSS)
