Immediately before the commencement of Ramazan Vigilance Cell is conducting raids in Old City areas like Chandrayangutta, Bandlaguda, Jahangeerabad, Barkas, Noori Nagar, Maisram, Omer Colony, Jamal Kunta. It has been observed that in connection with Electric current pilferage, these raids are being made. Many people are afraid of these raids and they are preferring to escape from these localities.
Dr. Khayam Khan and Mr. Amjad Ullah Khan Khalid of MBT termed these raids as the revenge to the residents of Old city that is been taken at the instance of some political leaders. These leaders want the people should come to them for making complaints. They asked Vigilance Cell that why are they conducting these raids before Ramazan and before the next Elections and why are they targeting only the Old city areas. They demanded APCPDCL officials to issue a white paper zone wise giving the details of the consumption of Electric current. They told that the Electricity consumption in one locality is less than the consumption of any industrial factory. They should therefore raid the industrial establishments instead of harassing the poor people.
They should also go to the public representative and influential bureaucrats who owe a large amounts to electricity department. The electricity bills of the poor persons are far less than these bureaucrats.
Mr. Ali Masqathi, TDP leader of Old City also protested about these raids. He expressed his surprise that why are public representatives keeping quite on these raids.
