Telangana State Chief Secretary Rajeev Sharma on Wednesday has asked the people to pay their dues to the government with demonetized Rs 500 and Rs 1000 notes till November 24. Though the Rs 500 and Rs 1000 notes were
demonetized by the Centre, an exemption was given to the general public to pay their fees, charges, taxes and penalties to the government using the Rs 500 and Rs
1000 demonetized currency note, the Chief Secretary said.But this exemption would be till November 24 only. Those paying their commercial taxes, registration fee, water dues, and power bills can utilize this
opportunity till Nov 24. The Chief Secretary said officials concerned were all given instructions to accept the demonetized Rs 500 and Rs 1000 for this purpose till Nov 24.
Rajeev Sharma also stated that all the district Collectors were asked to ensure the implementation of this exemption forthwith and create awareness among the general public.(NSS)
