Senior Congress legislator and former minister Peddireddy Ramachandra Reddy, who tendered his resignation to the Congress party, has met the YSRCP Chief YS Jagan Mohan Reddy at the Chenchalguda Jail here on Wednesday along with his son Mithun Reddy.
Speaking to the media after the ‘Mulakath’, Peddireddy said that he would join YSRCP at a huge public meeting to be organized in April at Tirupati. He made it clear that he would cast his vote in favor of the ‘no trust’ motion to be introduced against the State Government.
It may be recalled that Peddireddy, who was opposing the Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy ever since he took over, tendered his resignation to the party’s primary membership. He also tendered his resignation to the PCC vice-president post and AICC membership. He sent his resignation letters to the AICC Chief Sonia Gandhi, AICC general secretary and State Congress party incharge Gulam Nabi Azad and PCC Chief Botcha Sathyanarayana. Peddireddy belongs to Chief Minister Kiran Kumar Reddy’s native district Chittoor and has been his staunch opponent ever since he became the Chief Minister. (NSS)
