Thiruvananthapuram: As many as 38 have been arrested in the ongoing special operation ‘P-Hunt’ to crack down the international group of accused men sharing child pornography through various social media platforms by the Kerala police.
The Police have registered cases against 58 Indian citizens from Kerala in connection with this P-Hunt while search is on for others involved in the case.
The operation is being led by Additional Deputy General of Police (ADGP) Manoj Abraham under the supervision of Deputy General of Police (DGP) Loknath Behara.
ADGP Abraham speaking to Mirror Now said his team came across several websites on the dark web which had a total 5 lakh members of which 126 are from Kerala.
According to reports, the administrators of this group live in Pakistan and other European countries.
Since the members use fake identities, pseudonyms to conceal their identities, it is difficult to trace them.
However, the Kerala Police trained with Interpol and other agencies is successfully cracking down the members of this group.
According to reports, 21 raids were conducted across the state by the Counter Child Sexual Exploitation Unit of Kerala police.
The cops seized equipment such as laptops, mobile phones modems, hard disks and memory cards along with computers and other electronic devices.
