Peaceful Himachal witnessing communal hatred

The calm hilltops of Himachal Pradesh caught a glimpse of communal tensions for the first time in its history.

On Friday, anti-India slogans were found scribbled on the walls of ESI Medical College in Ner Chowk area of Mandi. Some unidentified miscreants are responsible for the incident which leads to tension in that area.

Police registered a case of sedition and of spreading communal hatred against unidentified persons but no arrest was made.

Acting on tip off, Balh police station SHO Inspector Chet Singh Bhangalia rushed to the spot where pro- Pakistan and other slogans using derogatory language against Indians were found on the college walls.

“Forensic Science Laboratory, Mandi, staff have taken writing samples and fingerprints,” Bhangalia said.
