(Siasat News) Peace has been restored in Sabzi Mandi area of the Old city of Hyderabad. Two days back some miscreants had damaged the properties of the Minority Community in an organized way. Its effects were felt yesterday also. People were afraid of coming out of their houses. Muslims go to meet their relatives living in other localities but yesterday they preferred to confine themselves to their houses. Police has imposed section 144 and did not allow free movement in the area. Women and school children faced a lot of difficulty in going to offices and schools. Rapid Action Force was commissioned which conducted flag march in these areas. Police has started arresting people. Barricades have been put on the road from Puranapul to Tappa Chabootra in Karwan area. Areas in and around Karwan like Kulsoompura, Jhira, Tappa Chabootra, Asifnagar, Murad nagar, Syed Ali Guda, Meraj Nagar etc., also got affected with these incidents of violence. No political leader was allowed to enter the area as a precautionary measure.
The incidents of violence were organized and well planned. Police failed to control the miscreants. It has been reported that persons from Minority Community have been targeted and many of them have been arrested. The attitude of police with the individuals belonging to Majority community is quite different. D.C.P of West zone, Mr. Stephen Ravindra reviewed the Law and order situation of the affected areas. Two days back Nishan-e-Mubarak was set ablaze by the miscreants. New Suffron flag was reinstated. Some miscreants in Kishan Bagh area targeted a Muslim house and pelted stones. Police became alert in that area. BJP workers led by the former Central Minister Mr. Bandaru Dattatreya and Dr. K. Lakshman, stasged dharna in front of police commissioner’s office against arresting BJP workers. They shouted slogans against the police actions. They alleged that police failed to arrest the miscreants. BJP workers were taken into police custody when they were trying to meet police commissioner. They wanted to present a memorandum to commissioner of police. Later, all of them were taken to a police station. The leaders who were taken into police custody include Mr. Venkat Reddy, President of BJP of Greater Hyderabad City and Mr. Baddam Bal Reddy, former MLA. Mr. Dattatreya told that due to inefficiency of the Govt. once again communal riots are taking place in the city. He blamed the police that at the instance of the Govt. it is trying to appease a particular local political party and it is registering criminal cases against the innocent youths. Whereas it is delaying to arrest those who are responsible for communal riots.
