Srinagar, March 08: Opposition PDP today renewed its demand for a thorough investigation into the killing of a 11-day-old baby in Baramulla district last month, even as police have arrested six persons in connection with the incident.
“It is necessary that full investigation is carried out into the incident and facts brought to the people,” PDP chief Mehbooba Mufti said after visiting the bereaved family in Rawoocha-Rafiabad, 55 kms from here today.
The infant, Irfan, who was being rushed to hospital in mini bus in Baramulla, died after the vehicle was caught in stone pelting during protests on February 22.
Mufti said it was moral duty of the government to help the family in view of the fact that they had suffered the tragedy as a result of “lawlessness” that gripped the state.
