Srinagar, October 25: Demanding engagement of Pakistan in final resolution of Kashmir issue, PDP today called upon “liberal and democratic” forces in the country to reach out to their counterparts in the neighbouring country.
“The liberal and democratic forces in the country should reach out to their counterparts in Pakistan which is involved in a grim war against terror,” PDP patron and former Chief Minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed said addressing a seminar in Budgam, 20 kilometres from here.
He said that stability of Pakistan is a global necessity and the informed opinion in our country too believes that its weakening could bring the entire region closer to harm.
“Let there be no doubt that stability of Pakistan is a prime concern for every one of us, who believe in peaceful and dignified coexistence,” he said.
Mufti expressed the hope that statesmanship of highest order would be displayed by the political leadership of the country under Prime Minister Manmohan Singh in reaching out to Pakistan in their gravest hour of crisis.]
