PDP appreciative of constitutional changes in Pakistan

Jammu, April 03: The Peoples Democratic Party today said the constitutional changes in Pakistan would create an atmosphere more conducive to resolving the Kashmir issue.

The changes sought to be brought about through the constitutional package introduced in that country’s parliament could strengthen democratic forces throughout South Asia, create a sobering effect and help build bridges of understanding, party patron Mufti Mohammad Sayeed said in a statement here.

“Democracies have their own terms of civilised engagement and one could hope our country seizes the moment to engage Pakistan in a purposeful dialogue aimed at resolving Kashmir and other issues,” he said
