Hyderabad, April 20: Launching another salvo in the war on YS Jaganmohan Reddy, state Congress president D Srinivas alleged on Tuesday that voting for the YSR Congress leader in the Kadapa Lok Sabha by-election would mean supproting the BJP at the national level.
‘’Jagan will support the BJP-led NDA at the Centre,’’ Srinivas said and alleged that the BJP was supporting Jagan through Karnataka minister Gali Janardhan Reddy.
Talking with reporters here, Srinivas alleged that there was a serious political conspiracy behind the Kadapa by-election and said that BJP national leadership was implementing its secret political agenda to grab power in the 2014 general election. “People will come to know about the clandestine political agreement between the the BJP and the YSR Congress soon. The BJP is using Jagan to implement its plans,” the PCC chief said.
He also suspected that BJP’s Karnataka minister Gali Janardhan Reddy was playing a key role in the entire matter. “The BJP is not a political force in the state and wants to improve its position in the state. At the same time, after the 2014 election, it wants to attain power at the Centre,’’ Srinivas alleged.
‘’After the by-elections, YS Jagan mohan Reddy will fight against Sonia Gandhi at the national level. As the TDP is in the third front, Jagan will have no option but to support the NDA.’’
He said chief minister N Kirankumar Reddy, AICC general secretary and in-charge of state Congress affairs Ghulam Nabi Azad and former chief minister K Rosaiah would take part in electioneering.
He dismissed Jagan’s claim that the by-election was a fight bewteen the populartities of Sonia Gandhi and the late YS Rajasekhara Reddy. “Rajasekhara Reddy was loyal to Sonia Gandhi til he breathed his last.’’
Srinivas claimed that the Congress would harp on Kadapa’s development during the election campaigning. “There are doubts about YS Jagan Mohan Reddy’s property which he disclosed before the Election Commission. If any thing is wrong in his affidavit, the EC is competitive to take a suitable action,” he said.
The PCC president said the Congress Legislature party was thinking of taking action against several MLAs who were indulging in anti-party activities. The CLP would submit a petition to Assembly deputy speaker N Manohar urging him to to disqualify several Congress MLAs who were doing anti-party activity.
“Some of the MLAs joined the YS Jagan Mohan Reddy camp and the day they took part in the election campaign, they were suspended from the party. Technically we should complete the process,” the PCC president said.
