PCC to act tough against rebel leaders

The Congress party has finally decided to act tough against its own leaders who are criticising Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy, the party and State Government.

Talking to reporters at Gandhi Bhavan here on Wednesday, PCC Disciplinary Committee chairman K Satyanarayana Raju said that it has been decided to take stern action the leaders who have been making statements against the Chief Minister and other leaders. The proposed action against such leaders would be discussed during the meeting of Disciplinary Committee meeting to be held at Gandhi Bhavan on Thursday.

After holding preliminary discussions, Satyanarayana Raju said that the committee would consult the Chief Minister and issue show cause notices to the leaders who are airing their views in public against the party and government. He said he was in receipt of a complaint against former minister T Jeevan Reddy who allegedly made anti-government statements. Party spokesperson K Mrutyanjam has lodged a complaint stating that he was unable to work freely in Karimnagar district due to Jeevan Reddy’s statements. This issue would also be discussed during Thursday’s meeting.

Satryanarayana Raju, however, avoided taking the names of Dr P Shankar Rao or DL Ravinder Reddy who have openly criticised the Chief Minister multiple times. When asked by the reporters about these leaders, he said the media should ‘wait and watch’ till Thursday.
