Shimla, May 24: The Himachal Pradesh State Pollution Control Board today issued a show cause notice to an Oberoi Group hotel here under provisions of the Water and Air Pollution Act.
Hotel Wild Flower at Chharabra, 16 kms from here, is asked to reply within seven days ‘why its application for consent to operate be not refused and power supply disconnected under the Act, PCB secretary Nagin Nanda said.
The notice said the hotel management was reluctant to let the staff of PCB enter the complex and take samples of water, which later found to have contained partially treated sewage water.
The PCB directed the management to immediately stop discharge of effluents into natural water drain, supplying water to surrounding villages and in future stop the trend of obstructing the officials from performing their duty.
