PCB lifts Umar Akmal’s one-match ban

Johannesburg : The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has lifted its one-match ban on Umar Akmal, thereby, making him eligible to play in the T20 series against New Zealand, starting from Friday.

The middle order batsman had earlier appealed to the cricket board against the suspension.

The 25-year-old was slapped with a one-match suspension for violating the dress code during the final of the Quaid-i-Azam Trophy, Sport24 reported.

Umar, playing for the domestic team Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited, was found to have committed a level one offence by sporting two logos instead of the allowed one on his kit.

Umar, who was earlier dropped for a T20 series against England for his involvement in unspecified `immoral activities` during another domestic match, will not be a part of ODI series against New Zealand. (ANI)
