PayPal users in US can now transfer funds via Facebook Messenger!

New York : Conventionally, social media is known to be a platform to help one walk down memory lane and look for their friends, family and acquaintances. But with the recent trend of fast money transfers, there is much to rejoice.

PayPal users in the United States now have the option to send and receive person-to-person payments over Facebook Messenger, thus further strengthening the string of ties between the two players.

PayPal’s integration with Messenger’s platform, which will also include its first customer service bot for handling customer questions and requests for help, is projected to assist over 2.5 million users who have linked their PayPal account with Messenger to enable an easier payment option, thereby enabling a shift in PayPal’s peer-to-peer payment (p2p) volume to Facebook’s messaging app, reports TechCrunch.

Users can explore the new feature by tapping the blue plus icon within Messenger, then selecting the green Payments button to send or request money. PayPal can be selected as the source when making a payment to a Messenger contact. Furthermore, PayPal’s bot will be updates so as to help users get customer service help just by chatting with it.

The feature, which is primarily available on iOS and web, will soon be rolled out on Android. Further, the company said the feature is expected to be rolled out to its other supported global markets in due course of time. (ANI)
