New Delhi, January 08: Indian hockey seems to be getting into deeper mess with every passing day.
Even as elections to Hockey India are mired in controversy, now it is the turn of Indian players to rise in revolt against the game’s administrators.
The entire men’s team on Friday boycotted the World Cup practice camp in Pune.
The players led by captain Rajpal Singh have refused to join the training camp unless their dues are paid by Hockey India.
The hockey players claim they are yet to receive their payment for the Champions Challenge I tournament in Argentina.
India had won bronze medal in the tournament, held in Salta, Argentina last month.
Hockey World Cup is scheduled to be held in New Delhi from February 28 to March 13 with India taking on archrivals Pakistan on the opening day of the mega-event.
The semi-finals of the tournament are scheduled for March 11, while the final will be played on March 13.
