Pay compensation to innocent Muslims before Ramazan: M.A. Khan

Hyderabad, August 24: Mr. M.A. Khan M.P. (Rajya Sabha) met Mr. Ahmed Patel and Mr. Ghulam Nabi Azad and requested to instruct Govt. of A.P. to accept the recommendations of the National Minorities Commission and pay Rs. 3 lakh compensation to innocent Muslims before Ramzan festival. Bothe the leaders assured him that they would talk to Mr. N. Kiran Kumar Reddy, Chief Minister of A.P. in this regard.

Mr. Khan met Mr. Ahmed Patel and Mr. Ghulam Nabi Azad separately in the Parliament house and apprised them of the incidents of police harassment and arrests of the innocent Muslim youths in connection with the bomb blast case at Makka Masjid. He said that due to the inhuman attitude of some communal minded police officers not only the lives of the Muslim youths was spoiled but it also brought disrepute to the Govt. its credibility was affected. The Muslim youths whom police had arrested have been exonerated by the court and they have been released. After their release they are facing difficulties because there is no one to employ them. Their families have become infamous. Mr. Kiran Kumar Reddy is aware of all these facts. He had assured on the floor of Assembly that the Govt. would help them but so far no action has been taken in this case. In such a situation, it is the responsibility of the Govt. to help them.

The National Minorities Commission finalized its recommendations after taking into consideration the recommendations of the State Minorities Commission and the judgment of the A.P. High Court.

Mr. Patel and Mr. Azad said that when High court declared them innocent and National Minorities Commission has recommended for compensation and the State Govt. also felt sorry for this, then there shouldn’t be any delay in payment of compensation by the state Govt. to the victims.
