Mumbai: In a sarcastic take on Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi’s claim that there would be an earthquake if he speaks on “personal corruption” of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, NCP president Sharad Pawar today said the MPs were worried what would be their fate in case that happened.
“Members of Parliament were scared and worried how they would get out of the Parliament building after the quake. But, since there was no earthquake, there is a feeling that we can sleep peacefully,” the veteran politician said when asked what he thought of Gandhi’s claim.
Referring to wash out of the winter session of Parliament, Pawar said he had never seen the ruling party stalling the proceedings in Parliament or Legislature in his 50 years of legislative career.
