Mumbai, August 17: NCP president Sharad Pawar has convened an extended working committee meeting of his party’s Maharashtra unit on August 28 in a bid to re-establish cordial relations between warring party leaders.
Pawar has decided to accord priority to trying to bring rapprochement between warring NCP leaders from different districts including Home Minister R R Patil and Rural Development Minister Jayant Patil, who hails from Sangli district in Western Maharashtra, party sources said.
Former MP from Nashik Devidas Pingale was denied a second term and Deputy Chief Minister Chhagan Bhujbal’s nephew Sameer was nominated from Nashik Parliamentary constituency, resulting in a conflict between the two.
Squabbles between Minister of State for Urban development Bhaskar Jadhav, who represents Guhagar assembly in Ratnagiri district, and former MLA Ramesh Kadam continue while the Kolhapur and Ahmednagar districts are also infested with factionalism, the sources said.
