Patna, April 20: At a time when Enforcement Directorate sleuths jointly grilled Kashinath Tapuriah, a key aide of Hasan Ali Khan, and Bihar Congress leader Amalendu Pandey at its office in Mumbai, a local court in Patna on Tuesday issued a production warrant against the Pune-based tax evader.
The session court has asked Hasan Ali to be produced on April 30 in the much talked of fake passport case. The biggest tax evader of the country so far and stud farm owner was issued passport from the regional passport office in Patna in 1997, allegedly on the basis of fraudulent papers.
Bihar Congress leader Amalendu Pandey had reportedly helped Ali in getting his passport from the Patna office, allegedly on the recommendation of now Lt Governor of Puducherry Iqbal Singh.
In his passport application form Hasan Ali had produced fake addresses of his local as well as permanent residences in Bihar.
