Hyderabad: All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) leader Asaduddin Owaisi on Tuesday described the Pathankot terrorist attack on the air force base as an “embarrassment for the country”.
Owaisi, criticized the attack, and said said that Home minister Rajnath Singh had announced the end of operations but still the security agencies are engaged in a gunfight with terrorists. This, at a time when “specific intelligence” was available, he said.
Mr.Owaisi said. “The Prime Minister (PM) should sit with Manmohan Singh because such unfortunate incidents happened during his tenure.”
When asked whether India should back off to Pakistan on account of the attacks, Owaisi said, “I feel we should have good relations with Pakistan to ensure activities like this stop. It is for the government to decide. I feel we should have good relations with all neighbours.”
He also said that we need to know “what happened” during the Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s recent talks with his Pakistani counterpart Nawaz Sharif in a surprise visit to his country.
