Patna, October 03: LJP president and former Union minister Ramvilas Paswan today undertook a visit to the areas dominated by ”Mahadalits” in Phulwarisharif constituency in Patna and enquired about their plight. Later, talking to reporters, Paswan charged Chief Minister Nitish Kumar with “failing” to provide houses to the Mahadalits under the Indira Awas Yojana and benefits under other welfare schemes during the past four years of the NDA government”s rule. “It is also unfortunate to note that despite CM”s announcement, not a single decimal of land has been given to Mahadalit families.
and the transistors which the CM promises to arrange for them are yet to made available,” he alleged. They have not been included in the list of Below Poverty Line people, Paswan added.
“The Dalits are the worst-suffering lot in Bihar as they have been deprived of even basic infrastructure and schemes for their livelihoods,” the former Union minister said. Paswan charged the NDA government with “playing Dalit and Mahadalit card for votes”.
