Hyderabad, May 10: After two year long hunt by Regional Passport office (RPO) Hyderabad, buildings have been identified for setting up of Passport Seva Kendras (PSK) at Ameerpet, Begumpet and Bowenpally and these centres are likely to start functioning from the month of August.
This would not be out of place to mention that the ministry of external affairs (MEA) had announced to open 3 project seva Kendras in twin cities besides Nizamabad to ensure issuance of passport within three days.
Besides this the ministry of external affairs has tied up with Tata consultancy services to ensure services of passport seva kendras all over the country.
According to Regional passport office officials, survey of 150 buildings at Abids, Alwal, Panjagutta, Madhavpur, Kukatpally and old city has been done. However, most of the buildings were found to be caught in either legal or family disputes.
It has been decided to set up PSK at Mayatri Vinam at Ameerpet, old airport at Begumpet, and the third PSK at Bowenpally and they are likely to start functioning from August.
