Fourteen passengers including three kids and the lift operator were trapped in a lift on the fourth platform of Nellore railway station for over an hour, turning the authorities tizzy.
The passengers and the lift operator boarded the lift around 1030 hrs on Sunday and were trapped inside. Though station authorities tried their best, they could not make the lift move. Then technicians from the lift providers came to the spot and released the passengers. As it has taken nearly an hour-and-a-half, some of the passengers felt giddiness.
Station Manager Antony Jayaraj has said that the lift has stopped in the middle as 14 persons boarded it, instead of 10– carrying capacity of the lift. (NSS)
