Passengers can now use DigiLocker and show Aadhaar, Driving License, PAN as ID proofs at Airport

Good news for regular flyers, now entering an airport in India gets easier as travellers can now just show their IDs such as Aadhaar card, PAN card as well as their driving license from their digital locker as a valid identity proof.

Credentials in the digital locker can be used as an identity proof to enter airports, according to a circular issued by the aviation security agency Bureau of Civil Aviation and Security (BCAS).

Now when an air passenger shows his/her Aadhaar card or PAN card, issued by the department of Income-Tax or driving licence from the ‘Issued Documents’ section by logging into his/her DigiLocker account, then it will be considered as a valid photo identity document.

However, it is stated that the documents uploaded by the passenger himself/herself shall not be taken into account as a valid photo identity document.
