Passenger takes ill forcing emergency landing

A Bangkok-Dubai Emirates Airlines flight with 240 passengers on board made an emergency landing at the International Airport here this morning after one of the passengers complained of chest pain. Airport sources said the flight was crossing the Chennai Air space at around 0630 hrs, when the passenger Mousa Anis (51), an Australian National, complained of chest pain. The cabin crew members immediately contacted the Airports Authorities and sought permission for emergency landing. After getting necessary clearanace, the aircraft made an emergency landing and the Australian national and his wife Zi Zi Sobhi (48) were off loaded from the flight. An airport medical team, which was kept in readiness, analysed the condition of Mousa and recommended hospitalisation. He was later admitted to a hospital. The flight later left for Dubai at 0930 hrs with 238 passengers. UNI
