Passenger plane crashes in Kathmandu, 18 dead

Kathmandu, September 25: The passenger plane carrying 19 people that went missing in Nepal crashed in Kathmandu on Sunday, killing 18 people, reports said. One person who was alive has been admitted to a nearby hospital.

Reports said that 10 out of the 16 tourists were Indians.

Officials said that the plane carrying tourists to view Mount Everest had been out of contact with the control tower for more than an hour.

The Beechcraft plane belonging to Buddha Air was carrying 16 foreign tourists and three crew members. It lost contact on Sunday on approach to the Kathmandu airport.

The plane had taken the tourists to view Mount Everest and other high peaks and was returning to Katmandu.
