Accusing the main opposition Telugu Desam Party (TDP) of changing its stance in the Assembly to benefit the ruling Congress and allowing it to go scot-free on some of the burning issues, the YSR Congress today claimed the session that ended today did not discuss any of the issues concerning people. Party Central Executive Committee Member and ex-MLA Sobha Nagi Reddy said the session passed off with no discussion on farmers’ issues, power tariff hike, drinking water, MSP, fees reimbursement and other issues.
She charged the TDP failed to perform its role as the main opposition party and was in utter confusion, planned or otherwise, as it flitted from one issue to the other without drawing any conclusion. She said the opposition made a big issue out of the liquor scam and stalled the proceedings for a few days and suddenly withdrew its attack for whatever reason after it vehemently raised the tainted Ministers issue. Suddenly it was on the backfoot clearly showing it had allowed Congress escape from any embarrassment and added the same point was raised by MIM Floor Leader Akbaruddin Owaisi.
