Hyderabad, June 13: Senior CPM leader and former M.P. Mr. Mohammed Saleem told that the country is facing corruption and black money which became challenges. He blamed the BJP and Congress and said that though these parties are apparently opposing corruption and black money but they are supporting these issues from behind.
Mr. Mohammed Saleem was addressing a seminar organized by CPM at Mahboob Hussain Jigar Hall, Siasat compound.
He said that the recent defeat of CPM in some state assembly elections did not deter their aspirations. Commenting on the present scenario of Hyderabad, he said that no party is interested in addressing the problems of the Muslims.
Parties claming to represent the Muslims are indulging in spreading hatred against the left parties. They don’t want that the problems of the Muslims are resolved.
They are opposed to principled political parties. The situation in Hyderabad is that of “Andheri Nagari, Choupat Raj”. The CPM in collaboration with other democratic forces will struggle to solve the problems of the Muslims.
Speaking on this occasion, Mr. Zahid Ali Khan, Editor Siasat gave the details of the problems faced by the Muslims of Hyderabad and said that a common forum consisting of democratic forces should be constituted which will struggle to resolve Muslim problems. He further told that in a planned way, Muslims were relegated to the backward position by closing down schools and displacing them from jobs. Funds are available for constructing five star hotels but no funds are available for improving hospitals and schools. Police is using the Nizam dominion’s Act to send the miscreants out of the city limits for which it has no authority.
He pointed out that 20 years back a police constable Mr. Abdul Qadeer shot dead a communal police officer for which he is serving the life imprisonment. On the contrary, a Hindu constable who killed a Muslim police officer of the rank of D.I.G. of Central Reserve Police gets bail. This is a clear at case of discrimination. Who will raise a voice against this injustice? He advised both the Communist Parties to struggle against injustice jointly. He referred to the victims of Makkah Masjid bomb blast case. They were released but no compensation for illegal detention was paid to them. In Toli Chowki, when Muslims agitated for misusing the Muslim graveyard land for providing passage to a posh colony, they were arrested.
Mr. Zahid Ali Khan told that so long as the Muslims do not become a united force their problems will remain unresolved.
Former MP Mr. P. Madhu told that the police is getting ready to open rowdy sheet against 680 Muslim youths. He told that the Chief Minister had announced Rs.100 Crore grant for the development of Old City, but so far no money has been released. He blamed the hostile forces against the Muslims who are trying to sabotage the welfare activities of Siasat and Munsif for the educational and economic development of the Muslims. He pointed but that the real land grabbers are the public representatives who tried to usurp four acres of graveyard land in Gowlipura and six acres of land in Kanchan Bagh area.
He blamed BJP that it is trying to disturb the peaceful situation and communal harmony in the city.
Mr. Syed Ashraf Ali, CPM City Member conducted the meeting which was attended by people in large numbers.
