Participation of industrial sector necessary in Telangana struggle

Speakers belonging to various fields participated in a colloquium entitled “The fates of Nizam Sugar Factory, Azamjahi Mills, IDPL, HMT, Alwyn & Praja Tools held under the auspices of Telangana Resource Centre and expressed their views that before the formation of A.P. State, Telangana Region was enriched in resources. The formation of A.P. State destroyed all such industrial resources. The colloquium was held at chandram in Oxford Grammar School, Himayathnagar. The experts from various industrial fields opined that the Andhra capitalists have sabotaged the industrial sector of Telangana in a very organized way because the people who are economically backward, keep themselves engaged in solving their economic problems and hence they don’t come forward to struggle to claim their political rights.

They said that for destroying Nizam Sugar Factory, IDPL, HMT, Azamjahi Mills, the capitalists of Andhra region are responsible. They said that they blame Nizam VII as a cruel ruler but he had established many industrial units in Hyderabad state. In order to promote their vested interests, Andhra industrialists destroyed these units in Telangana area. As aresult of which, Telangana is facing the problem of unemployment. Not only the industries established by the Nizam VII were damaged but the industrial units setup after the formation of A.P. State in Telangana Region were also destroyed by the leaders of Andhra. The latest example is that of Nizam’s Institute of Medical Sciences. It was established by the late Nizam to benefit the people of Telangana but now it is being handed over the private concerns.

It, therefore, becomes imperative to make industrial sector of Telangana part of Telangana struggle. The participants of the colloquium included Mr. Bal Reddy, former General Secretary IDPL, Mr. Appi Reddy, Chairman Azamjahi Mills, Mr. K. Ravi, Convener, Nizam Sugar Factory Protection Committee, Mr.R Mahaendra and C. Prabhakar.

Mr. M. Ved Kumar, Chairman Telangana Resource Centre welcomed the speakers. Hundreds of supporters of Telangana Movement attended the colloquium.
