New Delhi : Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar on Friday said that the government will fulfil the assurances given on the One Rank One Pension scheme. He said that there were some ‘technical’ discrepancies, but the government will implement the OROP.
“We’ll implement OROP. There are technical disparities but we are bound by our assurance and we will comply by it,” Parrikar said speaking at a press conference.
Union Minister of State for Information and Broadcasting Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore on Friday said the Central government may soon make an announcement on One Rank One Pension.
“We are committed to the ex-servicemen and an announcement for One Rank One Pension may be made soon,” Rathore told reporters here ahead of Independence Day.
A group of Army veterans demanding ‘One Rank One Pension’ have been protesting at Jantar Mantar for the past two months. The OROP will benefit 25 lakh ex-servicemen. (ANI)
