Parliamentary delegation to visit New Zealand

New Delhi: Lok Sabha Speaker Sumitra Mahajan will lead an Indian parliamentary delegation on a five-day visit to New Zealand from Saturday.

The delegation includes MPs Prem Chand Gupta, Prem Singh Chandumajra, Deepender Singh Hooda, C.R. Patil, Darshana Vikram Jardosh, Padmakar Alias Anil Gulabrao Shirole, Ranvijay Singh Judev and Vivek K. Tankha, a Lok Sabha source said on Thursday.

Lok Sabha Secretary-General Anoop Mishra will also accompany Mahajan.

During its visit, the delegation will call on the Speaker of New Zealand Parliament David Carter and will have meetings with the members of the New Zealand-India Parliamentary Friendship Group at Wellington.

At Auckland, the delegation will meet the Indian community at an event hosted by the New Zealand Indian Central Association (NZICA).

NZICA was formed in 1926, making it the oldest established Indian organisation in New Zealand.

NZICA consists of 10 affiliated branches and seven associate or probationary members that represent the Indian diaspora of New Zealand.

The Lok Sabha Speaker will unveil photographs of Indian soldiers of World War I.
