New Delhi: A parliamentary committee has suggested a reduction in the proposed size of health warnings on cigarette packs.
Earlier, it was proposed that tobacco makers cover 85 percent of a cigarette pack’s surface with the health warning, up from 20 percent now.
According to reports, the committee said that the proposal of rising the size of health warnings on packs to 85 percent is too harsh on the tobacco industry.
The committee has reportedly recommended that the warnings be limited to half the size of the cigarette pack. (ANI)
