Minister Ponnala Lakshmaiah today said that the Telangana Ministers boycotted the vote on account budget sitting in protest against the Seemandhra leaders’, including Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy, defiance against bifurcation.
Talking to reporters at his chambers in Secretariat here after launching a portal of “Sammakka Sarakka” jatara, he said he will present Jaggery to the forest goddess at ‘Jatara’ site in the name of AICC Chief Sonia Gandhi.
He said that the defiance of the leaders will not come in the way of carving out Telangana state. Flaying Kiran Reddy for belittling T ministers for preventing his convoy before going to the ‘Silent protest’ at Delhi, Ponnala said that such actions will aggravate the problem. ‘We the Telangana leaders will achieve statehood as the Centre is firm on it’. He attributed it to the fact President Pranab Mukherjee giving his approval to the T bill. He exuded confidence that the BJP will cooperate for passing the bill in Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha as it was recommended by the President.
UPA Chairperson Sonia Gandhi is committed for Telangana and ‘our dream will come true’, he said. At this final stage of state formation, seemandhra leaders must cooperate in a dignified manner rather than making a hue and cry, he suggested. Though the Seemandhra leaders are trying to create hurdles, that will not stall t state formation. Party will take necessary action against those erring leaders if they resort to anti-party activities. He said that the high command decision on Telangana will not be deferred despite any pressure from the Kiran Reddy or Seemandhra Union Ministers and MPs. (NSS)
