Ahead of the approaching Winter Session of Parliament, the Trinamool Congress on Tuesday said that Parliament should not be dominated by “shouting matches and boycotts”.
TMC national spokesperson Derek O’Brien in a statement said, “To agitate from the word go in the Winter Session will be unfair to the people of India. TMC does not believe the coming session of Parliament should be dominated by shouting matches and boycotts.” He further stated, “For all their big talk, the two big national parties BJP and Congress are the first to want to short circuit Parliament”.
He also reminded the Narendra Modi government of its faith in cooperative federalism and wanted the party to demonstrate it. “The Centre has made claims of cooperative federalism.
TMC wants a practical demonstration of cooperative federalism. The government has lost its way but not its arrogance. It continues to insult and mock parliamentary protocols,” he said.
