Paripoornananda attends priest’s funeral, asks whether performing puja a crime

Hyderabad: Newly joined BJP leader and Sri Peetam chief Swami Paripoornananda, who attended the funeral of a priest, who was attacked by an unidentified assailant, questioned whether performing puja was a crime in Telangana State.

Swami Paripoornananda attended funeral of priest Satyanarayana at Mogilicharla in Warangal district. The priest was shot by an unidentified youth while he was performing puja in Sri Shiva Sai temple at Warangal Pochamma Maidan. Later, Swami Paripoornananda consoled family members of Satyanarayana and demanded that the State government order an inquiry. The Swami also revealed while he was on the way to Mogilicharla, a posse of police personnel, tried to stop him as he was a terrorist.

Swami Paripoornananda said the deceased was fatally attacked by a youth on October 26 while he was performing puja inside the temple at 5.30 am and playing Bhagvadgita record through mike. Immediately, the priest was rushed to MGM hospital. Later, critically injured Satyanarayana was shifted to NIMs hospital where he died this morning after five days.
