Parents seek help for 14-month kidney patient

Karimnagar, January 12: Imran is a 14-month-old child and does not know that he is suffering from a serious kidney ailment. He had been all smiles until he suddenly collapsed due to pain while playing. His father, Majaruddin, on coming to know that his son was having a kidney problem, left his wife and the son at her maternal uncle’s home here. The poverty-stricken family is not in a position to arrange for proper treatment. Doctors told them the treatment would cost them a minimum of Rs 1 lakh. Unfortunately, they have no Arogyasri card to avail the benefit.

Haseena, the kid’s mother, appeals to philanthropists to give help for the treatment and save her child. She said the boy is able to survive only on medicines and if he misses the medicine even for a day the suffering will increase. “His abdomen swells and he cannot pass urine until medicine is administered,’’ she said. Imran also suffers from a very large cystic mass in the left kidney and hydronephrosis and hydroureter-related diseases. If treatment is not given on time the other kidney, which is normal, might also become damaged, doctors told Haseena. Seeking immediate help from philanthropists, she has also urged the government to give exemption to her son and let them avail the Arogyasri scheme as surgical treatment is the only the way to save Imran. Those who wish to extend help can contact
