Parents-CM meet today

Hyderabad, July 06: After the recommendation comes implementation. As far as the Hyderabad School Parents Association (HSPA) is concerned, that would be the agenda for Monday’s rendezvous with the Chief Minister as they discuss the school fee hike issue with Y S Rajashekhar Reddy.

The meeting, scheduled to be held at the Chief Minister’s Camp Office in the morning hours would see a delegation of the private school parents take their agenda to the next logical step of progression.

A chat with HSPA member Sanjay Raghuraman reveals that while the concerted efforts of 300- odd parents had seen the six-member advisory committee on fee hike dish out a set of rules for the private schools concerned, “much needs to be done where implementing these recommendations are concerned.” The HSPA says that based on the advice of the Chief Minister, the association will decide on th next course of action. “The decisions of the advisory board are not entirely in parents’ favour, and we intend to resist a verdict that would give school managements an excuse to employ unfair money-making tactics,” added another parent.

Meanwhile, another faction of the parents groups in Hyderabad, calling themselves the Parents Association Coordinate Committee (PACC), is procuring the recommendations generated from the Parents Associations in some 15- 20 schools in the Twin Cities.

“This would take the movement forward and ensure that the school fee hike is resisted with due show of strength from the parents’ side,” says a member of the PACC.
