Parents Association demands regularisation of school fee

Hyderabad: Hyderabad School Parents Association (HSPA) submitted a representation to state’s education department to form District Fee Regulation Committees (DFRC).
The Association urged the Telangana government to regularise the fee structure and submitted several recommendations to relieve burden from parents and guardians. The key recommendations include not permitting any school from keeping itself out of the framework of proposed District Fees Regulation Committee. Government had promised to form District Fee Regulation Committee. No non-aided private school including minority institutions should be exempted from the audit of District Fee Regulation Committee. There should be an Appellate Authority where schools and parents can approach.

One of the member’s suggestion in the representation read as, “Define school fees in terms of total payment made by a parent to the school (including those for transport, food, activities). It is important to define the school fees as such to avoid schools using different nomenclatures to circumvent the various regulations.”
