Absence of Higher Education options for Indian expat students in Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Higher Education Fair and Career Guidance programs play a vital role in bridging the gap between the academic institutions, Universities, students and parents said Consul General of India, Faiz Ahmad Kidwai.
Addressing the parents and student community as a chief guest on the occasion Higher Education Fair and Career Guidance program organized by Indian Youth Welfare Association (IYWA) at Consulate General of India, Thaliya, Jeddah premises, Faiz Ahmad Kidwai said that astronomical number of Indian expat students are interested to pursue Higher Education in Saudi Arabia but the options available are very limited and parents are forced to send back their sibling to India and other countries.
He assured the parent community that the Indian mission in Saudi Arabia is taking up the issue of Higher Education of Indian Expats with the authorities.
Encouraging the efforts of spreading the knowledge of light, Faiz Ahmad exhorted IYWA to bring in more University and colleges from different states of India for the benefit of Indian expat community.
Mohammed Raghib Qureshi, Head of Chancery & Consul Education, Consul Community Welfare, S.R.H. Fahmi, Vice-Consul Commercial Anoop Singh, Indian Engineers Forum President Sayeeduddin, Azhar Ali Zai Ex-IISJ committee member, Community leaders and academicians graced the event by the presence.

To raise the potential aspirations and broaden the horizons while helping the child take the informed decision, students and parents were given Career Guidance by experts on variety of educational subjects through which different careers paths can be achieved. Samiullah Khan, who is heading Middle East and Africa for SRM University which has become India’s pioneer education institution by launching of satellite by its students and first Indian university to have achieved ABET accreditation, said that he has witnessed great passion and inquisition in parents and student community for persuasion of Higher education. Parents were desperately looking for sustainable career options for their children.
Engineer Abubakar who represented the newly establish Hyderabad College of Excellence a residential school cum college which is being run on CBSE pattern said that a lot of response was received from the parents. Those parents who want to shift their families were enthusiastically inquiring about various details and admission procedures.
Kaleem Usmani, CEO, Al Hilm Institute of Higher Training said that along with the students a lot of parents were also inquiring about various financial and accounting certification & training courses to upgrade their technical knowledge and attain professional edge.
Dr. Mukhtar Khan a veteran educational consultant in the Saudi Arabia who is participating in the IYWA career guidance and higher education fair since last six years observed that from a small program it has transformed itself into a prominent calendar event of Jeddah.
Earlier President IYWA, S.P. Singh gave the key note address on the event, Chief Coordinator Muzzammil Hussain Welcomed the gathering and General Secretary Mir Gazanfar Ali Zaki gave the vote of thanks while the event was coordinated by Aslam Shareef and Mirza Imtiaz Baig.
