A 28-year-old woman succumbed to the burn injuries which she sustained after she was set ablaze allegedly by her paramour.
According to Pahadishareef police, the victim, M Jyothi, was set on fire allegedly by her paramour Satyanarayana alias Sattaiah on February 26. She was admitted to the Osmania General Hospital where she died on Monday night. Enquiries by the police revealed that Jyothi was living with Sattaiah since she took divorce from her husband Veerappa about nine years ago. However, she was having frequent disputes with Sattaiah’s husband. On February 26, she had an argument with Sattaiah over his wife and consequently, he had set her ablaze.
A case of murder under Section 302 has been registered and further investigations are on. (INN)
