Hyderabad, September 05: Telangana Rashtra Sadhana Udayama Committee president Konda Laxman Bapuji on Sunday called upon Telangana people and leaders to launch a parallel government and assembly to govern themselves.
Talking to media persons, Bapuji said that there was no point in staying in the united Andhra Pradesh without honour. With Centre and State Governments failed to address the problems of Telangana people and discriminating interests of region, he said, the only suitable solution was a parallel government and assembly session.
Recalling the statement made by Union Home Minister P Chidambaram December 9, 2009, he demanded that the Centre announce its decision by September 15. If the Centre fails to take any decision, Bapuji threatened, that he would announce a parallel government in the region from September 17.
Bapuji was sure that the government employees and local administration would come forward to run the parallel government. He said that he would choose one leader with image to head the government and would make efforts to hold elections for all 117 assembly constituencies in the Telangana region.
