Andhra Pradesh Chief Electoral Officer Bhanwarlal has said the Returning Officer has reported that the nomination papers filed by all the six candidates for the Biennial elections to the council of states (Rajya Sabha) 2012 to fill six seats were ‘valid’ and accepted after scrutiny today. Addressing a press conference here this evening, he said “on behalf of Election Commision of India, I went and oversaw the scrutiny of papers and declared that the candidates are validly nominated to the upper house.” For Indian National Congress, Senior Telangana leader Palvai Goverdhan Reddy, APCC General Secretary Rapolu Anand Bhaskar, former Union Minister Renuka Chowdhary and actor-turned-politician and erstwhile Praja Rajyam Party Chief had filed the papers yesterday. For Telugu Desam Party (TDP) former Home Minister T Devender Goud and Businessman C M Ramesh had filed the nominations.
