A three-member committee, comprising Rachel Chatterjee, chairperson, Andhra Pradesh Public Service Commission, A. Sudershan Reddy, Advocate General and Minnie Mathew, Special Chief Secretary, appointed by Chief Justice and NALSAR University Chancellor, has rejected Prof. Amita Dhanda’s sexual harassment charge against for VC of NALSAR Prof. Veer Singh.
It may be mentioned here that the Chief Justice of Andhra Pradesh in his capacity as Chancellor of NALSAR appointed the three-member panel to probe the sexual harassment allegation of Prof. Amita Dhanda, Dean (Academic) NALSAR against former Vice-Chancellor Prof. Veer Singh. The committee has submitted its report to the Chief Justice/ Chancellor of NALSAR.
In a press release, Prof. KVS Sarma, Registrar, NALSAR University of Law, has stated that the committee has concluded that the emails dated December 22, 2011 and December 26, 2011 sent by former vice-chancellor Prof. Veer Singh to Prof. Amita Dhanda, Dean (Academic) do not constitute sexual harassment as has been alleged by Prof Amita Dhanda.
