Hyderabad, April 10: The newly-constituted Heritage Conservation Committee (HCC) has decided to put plaques for all notified heritage structures in the city in a phased manner.
The Committee met here on Friday to chalk out a special programme for the World Heritage Day on April 18. The first plaque would be unveiled at Greenlands, a listed heritage building, on that day besides launching a campaign on heritage conservation.
The HCC resolved to have architectural control on important heritage places like Pathargatti and Laad Bazaar. It also wanted due consideration to heritage conservation in the proposed new master plan.
Committee chief R. Rajamani presided over the meeting held at the HMDA office. Metropolitan Commissioner BP Acharya was a special invitee.
The panel reviewed listed Heritage Buildings and decided to get a comprehensive report on the latest developments on them.
It discussed how global cities preserved their heritage places even as they mordernised.
Members Ramesh Kamajosila, Anwar Aziz, Sanjay Torvi, Prof P.Chenna Reddy, Muzaffar Hussain, Sajjid Shahid, Frake Quadar and AV Bhide were present.
